Teade Tagaloa is a single mother raising a 12-year-old son. She left her hometown of Lexington, Kentucky, seeking a city full of school options and hoping the options she found would provide her son with the foundation he needed to start a career or go to college. After taking a leap of faith and relocating to Nashville, Tennessee, Teade realized a bigger city did not equal better. Teade struggled to find a place where her son fit in and became frustrated. When she was about to give up, she met staff members from Nashville Rise, who gave her the opportunity to network with other parents going through the same things as her.
