Stacy Jones

Stacy Jones is a 2019-20 Teach Plus Rhode Island Policy Fellow. Stacy teaches 10th and 11th grade English at W. M. Davies Career and Technical High School in Lincoln, Rhode Island, where she also serves as the school's diversity committee chair. She has secured a two-year, $10,000.00 SEL Innovation Fund award and a $57,730.00 Rhode Island Foundation grant. These funds support classroom instruction, professional development and school culture in the critical areas of cultural competency, social-emotional learning, equity and belonging. Stacy co-facilitated a panel discussion at the Harvard University Graduate School of Education 2016 Alumni of Color Conference. The panel, entitled "Leaning Into The Discomfort of Diversity: Real Actions Necessary for Real Reforms," focused on how current recruitment and hiring practices in public school districts contribute to the lack of diversity among educational staff. She earned a master's of education in school leadership from Harvard Graduate School of Education, a master's in teaching, secondary education from Clark University, and a master's in journalism from New York University.
