Colleen Hroncich

Colleen Hroncich is a Senior Fellow at the Commonwealth Foundation, Pennsylvania’s free-market think tank. Colleen Hroncich graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in economics. Following college she interned at the American Enterprise Institute, worked as a research analyst at ICF Consulting in its energy division, and then joined the Allegheny Institute for Public Policy as a research associate. When her first child was born, Colleen chose to stay home and be a full-time mom. She jokes that her on-the-job training as a mother of four—whose children have experienced public, private, cyber, and home education—has almost earned her an advanced degree in educational choice. A recent graduate of the Koch Fellow Program, she also has experience with health care policy, small business regulatory barriers, and public sector unions. Colleen is a published author; she wrote "The Whistling Irishman: Danny Murtaugh Remembered" about her grandfather, who managed the Pittsburgh Pirates to two World Series Championships. Colleen and her husband and children currently live in Grove City, which they chose for its vibrant homeschooling community.
